Having established a strong proof of concept for the trained community cadre of Sakhis across Assam and Rajasthan, steps are now being taken to replicate the Sakhi model through an online learning & certification programme, GramShakti, which captures all the best practices involved in Mein Pragati.
GramShakti is a first-of-its-kind training-cum-certification program to enable creating a cadre of community workers to promote financial literacy and inclusion at the community level. The cadre undergoes capacity building through a mobile-based learning application, customised in regional languages, with interactive and engaging learning content – comprising theory as well as practical assignments.
Crisil Foundation launched this certification programme in June 2018, leveraging its experience of building a trained cadre of Sakhis in Assam and Rajasthan, as well as financial health workers in Haryana and Maharashtra.
GramShakti is Crisil Foundation's attempt to provide a scalable model for creating a pan-India cadre of trained community leaders that can effectively address the issue of financial exclusion as well as women's empowerment in a scalable and replicable manner.
