Crisil Ratings webinar on data centres: Decoding the boom

Summary

Demand for data centres has been growing steadily in India because of the ongoing digital transformation of the economy.

Two major factors are driving the trends - one, large enterprises increasingly embracing cloud solutions and digital infrastructure and, two, strong growth in mobile usage. Increasing adoption of 5G services is multiplying the data needs of retail customers, resulting in exponential growth in data consumption.

Added to these, technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning will solidify the lower latency requirements, leading to localisation of data storage, which in turn will fuel demand for data centres.

As demand continues to outpace supply, data centres are expected to witness robust capacity growth over the medium term, with established and new companies lining up investments.

Considering its capital-intensive nature, the segment is likely to attract large amount of capital from domestic and foreign players alike.

In this context, what would be the likely growth trajectory of this sector? Will competition intensify? Will the players generate healthy returns on their investments?

For a deep dive into these issues, we invite you to a webinar, where our experts will discuss:

  • Outlook and growth drivers for data centres
  • Capacity addition over the medium term
  • Capital investment over the medium term and its benchmarking
  • Landscape of end-user industries
  • Profitability and return metrics

The webinar will be followed by a panel discussion with industry leaders and a Q&A session.

Do dial in.
